…because sometimes it does matter who you work with…

here’s a little about me personally.

I have so much time for the woo-woo and the whimsical. Life can be far too serious and heavy not to explore the lighter and more magical side too. Tell me your sun, moon, and rising, and I’ll tell you mine.

I love to be outside in nature, ideally with my hands in the soil or my feet in the grass or the sand, and you’ll almost always find me with my black lab at my side.

I’m northern through and through, originally from Co Durham, via a stint in Edinburgh and Newcastle, I now live in York, where I run a coworking space for freelancers, creatives, and remote workers.

You can check that out here MuseYork.co.uk.

I’ve worked as a freelance marketer for 10 years, specialising in content and copy.

I went into this freelance life with surprisingly little corporate world marketing experience, but I inherently knew I wanted to carve out my own way of working.

With the backing of my Business & Marketing Degree, including a dissertation on UGC, and the little experience I had, I embarked on a largely self-taught journey. Collaborating with my sister & fellow Marketeer for several years, working with agencies and startups, and supporting on a Google project for a number of years. My experience has been honed with clients big and small, spanning industries from property and recruitment to wellbeing therapists and charities.

Having worked with this variation of businesses and individuals, I was able to understand A) who I liked working with and B) what was most often missing in their approach to marketing their brand.

A significant part of the marketer's role is writing, language, and communication - the importance of which I will never cease to promote, not only in marketing but as a human. Language is fascinating. And it matters.

In a fast-paced, very visual, content-hungry environment, I recognise just how hard it is for small outfits, especially, to stay aligned to the core of their brand and their message and not to get carried away with the latest trend, offering, or competitor’s focus instead.

The visuals are a vital and, in my opinion, enjoyable part of marketing; however, visuals alone are not marketing!

The only way you can effectively market your brand is if you’re clear and confident in your messaging and direction, and this is where I acknowledged a disconnect - between businesses wanting to create impactful content and actually having their brand, message, and offering clearly defined.

So, I embarked on another self-taught journey to develop a way of working with individuals and brands to get it right from the off, or regroup to make moving forward toward growth a little easier.

That offering is what you’ll find here.

So, if you’re a founder itching to get started with your brand and content creation, an entrepreneur with too many ideas spilling out of her brain, or a polished brand looking for some structure and assistance in creating content for your brand, there’s an offering for you here.
